The club runs an annual aggregate championship in conjunction with the Weekend race calendar, starting with the first race in January and ending the week before the Christmas handicap – winner announced at the handicap. The aggregate championship determines an annual club champion based on performances across the year.

8 or more riders; 1st – 8pts, 2nd – 5pts, 3rd – 3pts, 4th – 2pts, 5th – 1point
6-7 riders; 1st – 5pts, 2nd – 3pts, 3rd – 2pts,4th – 1point
4-5 riders; 1st -3pts, 2nd – 1point

This championship is determined by a point based system where points are allocated in the following manner;

Handicap

everybody else – 1 pt.
Club Championships
Participation in Club Championships requires participation in at least 3 club events (Weekend, Tuesday, Wednesday) in the season of the championship; Summer for Criterium, Winter for Road and the calendar year for the ITT. The ‘races’ column of the table below currently shows the number of Saturday events for the calendar year.
Open and Inter Club races
No aggregate points are awarded for these races.
Toughen Up Series Points
In addition to the normal aggregate points you earn for a race, riders can accrue the following bonus points:
- a 50% bonus to any aggregate points earnt at Jindivick (e.g. win at Jindivick and you’ll receive 10 aggregate points plus a bonus 5 points.)
- Compete in all four rounds of the series and you’ll receive 4 bonus points (basically an extra point for each round.)
- If you are required to marshal at any of the races, you will be awarded your average points from your other series races.
- At Broadford, we are likely to race in both directions on the track. If this occurs, a full set of points will be awarded for each individual race (so essentially come on down for the chance at double points at Broadford).
Additionally, to be eligible for any series prize money this year, you must have entered at least three rounds of the series (note that Broadford will only count for one round and marshalling at one of the rounds will count towards your three rounds). Like we said, we want to reward the real tough nuts of the series this year.
Note: Bonus points will not count towards the Club Champion Aggregate – they only apply to the Toughen-Up Series.
